Thinking BIG

I am so disorganized that I cannot remember where my paintings end up, and some of my favorites disappear forever, so I thought I'd try to make a record.  I wish I could take decent photos of these images, but alas, alack, my camera doesn't seem to like these 2' X 2' squares.  They ARE square, but that's the way I can get inexpensive pieces of lumber, a far cheaper option than canvas, stretched or unstretched.  I figure I'm just a doodler anyway.  What does it matter?

This bowl of apples struck me a very jolly when I put the marked down bag all into one bowl, but I suppose they really look more like tomatoes.  Anyway, the background was too bland, so when I took a photo with my phone, the window panes showed above the painting, and that's why the white window borders.  Not terribly compelling, but I loved the apples!

Friend Tracy gave me three eggs that her chickens had offered her that morning, and I raced home to paint them.  They wobble uncertainly on their plate, and I think I need some shading ... Oh, I just turned around and realized that this is an OLD version.  Let me see if I can get the updated one on board.  Maybe later, as a lovely little Cambodian girl said to me when she kept pressing me to buy water in Phnom Phen, and she couldn't bear to imagine that she couldn't make the sale.  "Maybe later," she said with a big grin.

Maybe later!
